Welcome to the Fire & Building Inspectors Association of Ireland (F.B.I.A.I)

The F.B.I.A.I was founded in 2004 by Mr Noel C. Manning (Structural Fire Engineer / Fire Researcher and Lecturer), Mr Johnpaul Manning (Construction Management), Mr Robin Knox (Engineer, ex-Building Control Inspector NI), Mr Thomas English (Chartered Engineer / Insurance Risk Assessor), Mr Edward Dalton (Acoustics), and Mr Robert Foley (Architect).

MISSION STATEMENT

A)  To protect people and property from fire.

B)  Improving building Codes / Standards, and the quality of building design and construction, and in doing so, particular emphasis is being placed at this time on semi detached, terrace-type housing, and / or apartments and / or where similarly constructed buildings are concerned.  The emphasis being “Durable Sustainability” in the Cold and Hot State”, i.e. prior to, and / or post any fire accident. 

C)  To assist Designers / Builders, and Developers alike to achieve higher standards of building construction and fire safety.

D)  To assist Insurers with regards to risk assessment.

E)  To provide professional independent risk assessment for both the Insurer and the Insured.

F)  To provide incident investigation based upon our unique fire research knowledge.

G)  To provide professional independent loss adjusting.

H)  Continuous on going Fire research.

I)  To provide professional investigation into all types of fires, the likely source, the cause and the preparation of the necessary reports to enable redress where appropriate.  This service is available to all Specifiers / Certifiers / Developers / Builders / Insurers / An Garda Síochána, and the public at large.
